The UW runs a demanding clinical program. Students there diagnose and treat patients with complex needs long before they ever enter private practice.​

For you, that clinical depth means fewer referrals. Most implants, root canals, extractions, and complex restorations are handled here, so you aren't sent to one of our trusted specialists unless it is actualy warranted.

Continuing Education and Advanced Training

Dental school teaches the fundamentals. The kind of dentist you end up with depends on what happens after. Washington sets a minimum number of continuing education hours for every licensed dentist, and Dr. Bauer completes more than triple that requirement, treating ongoing training as part of the job rather than a box to check:

• Spear Education: advanced training in treatment planning, occlusion, and restorative dentistry through one of the most respected postgraduate programs in the profession. For you, that means complex cases get planned as a whole mouth, not tooth by tooth.

• The MOD Institute (Modern Optimized Dentistry): hands-on training in digital dentistry and 3D printing. These are the workflows behind the 3D-printed ceramic restorations designed and made in this office.

• 90+ hours of Invisalign continuing education: well beyond the basic provider course. That depth is what gets you an honest answer about whether clear aligners are the right tool for your case, and careful monitoring when they are.

• Therapeutic Botox training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE): used here primarily for TMJ pain and the chronic headaches and jaw tension that come with it.
